The GSCID’s Social Outreach Manager, Ingrid Frieslaar, (pictured below) has been appointed by the Rondebosch Community Improvement District (RCID) to assist with the homeless in the residential area covered by the RCID (see map below).

The position, which commenced 1 July, will initially be for a three month period during which Ms Frieslaar will be focusing on establishing a database of the homeless within the RCID area (as she has similarly done within the GSCID precinct).

RCID Manager, Shirley Aldum, said they are delighted to have this assistance from someone with Ms Frieslaar’s experience to help them with identifying homeless hot spots in the residential area and to assist with managing it in a sensitive manner.

Frieslaar is well known among the homeless on the streets of the GSCID precinct as she has performed this critical role since the inception of the GSCID in 2010.

The RCID social outreach responsibilities will be over and above those carried out by Frieslaar at the GSCID.
