Refurbishment is currently underway at the GSCID’s office in Mowbray in a space previously used as a training room. The space is being set up as a Surveillance Centre (control room) for the GSCID’s impending LPR security camera project due for launch at the end of July 2018.

The project will see six (6) cameras erected at appropriate sites within the GSCID area and three (3) cameras in the LMRID precinct. It is hoped that SAB and Great Westerford will also come on board to participate in the project.

Long term the project will be able to accommodate up to a maximum of sixty (60) cameras, monitoring of which will take place on a 24/7 basis from the GSCID’s newly established Surveillance Centre.

The advantage of installing cameras in public places is enhanced safety. A visible camera can also serve as a deterrent that can prevent crimes such as shoplifting, muggings and thefts from occurring.

Watch this space for project updates!
