As part of its social outreach initiative, spearheaded by GSCID Social Outreach Manager, Ingrid Frieslaar, the GSCID team, in partnership with LMRID distributed Easter Buckets filled to the brim with food and Easter eggs to the Straatwerk team who are responsible for keeping the precinct clean. David Sylvester, LMRID Contract Supervisor, lead a prayer blessing the Straatwerk members and their families.

Following the handover at the Straatwerk depot, spare Easter buckets were given to the homeless clients within the LMRID boundary. The homeless client who has been helping out in the GSCID office also received a bucket.

The Easter Bucket drive is one of several social outreach initiatives under the under the broader ‘Holding Hands’ projects for 2017 in which, often with the help of the community, the GSCID continues to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
