Huge kudos to the GSCID sponsored Straatwerk teams who this past Saturday, 18 February, participated in the organised Capetown Clean Up event.

A cleaning team, which included a straatwerk refuse collection bakkie, worked along the Liesbeek River Trail from 10h00 to 14h00.

The Chester Road Railway bridge and surroundings which is mostly a problem area was also attended to and was left in clean state.

The team also checked along the entire canal and its river banks up to Newlands concentrating mainly on litter. One hundred and ten (110) refuse bags were used during the clean up operation which were collected by the Straatwerk bakkie at the River Club collection point ready for sorting and recycling.
