On 30 November 2017, Mowbray Library in partnership with the City of Cape Town hosted an HIV/AIDS Awareness Event at the Mowbray Town Hall.

After the talks, books and boerewors rolls were on sale and free HIV tests were administered by the CoCT Health Department.

The event was a huge success with Alderman JP Smith, Cllr Patrick Chapple and other influential members of the Mowbray Community in attendance. A special thanks to the Mowbray Library employees who worked very hard to make the event a fun-filled, educational experience.

Today, on World AIDS Day,we take a moment to commemorate those lost to the HIV/AIDS virus and also to celebrate those fighting it every day of their brave lives.
