Newly appointed GSCID General Manager, Barbara Breedt

The Groote Schuur Community Improvement District (GSCID) is pleased to announce the appointment of Barbara Breedt as its new General Manager with effect from 1 July, 2019.

Ms Breedt previously held the post of Station Commander at Rondebosch SAPS for four years. She has 31 years policing experience with extensive knowledge of security and operational management matters, as well crime prevention.

Ms Breedt has been appointed after former GSCID General Manager, Nina Farrell, resigned in January 2019. She takes over from Anthony Davies, who came out of retirement to act as Interim General Manager until the new appointment had been finalised.

GSCID Chairman, Gregg Huntingford, said that he is confident that the breadth and depth of Breedt’s management and security experience in the policing environment will stand her in good stead in her new leadership role at the GSCID.

Ms Breedt is keen to take up the challenge and believes that her past experience will enable her to offer support and add value to the GSCID’s short- and long-term strategies.
